This issue arises from the accumulation of battery indicator signals. 

Good news is this is not indicative of battery degradation and can be resolved by fully charging the Dot Pad while it is powered on. 

 

To do this, simply turn on the Dot Pad and charge it to full capacity or for at least 5 minutes if it is already fully charged. 

This will reset the battery indicator.
