News[al-sharq] Technical meeting at the National Center for the Blind

The Qatari Cultural Center for the Blind organized a technical meeting during which the Dot Pad device, which converts images into prominent graphics, was introduced. The event comes from the center's belief in the importance of the role of assistive technology in overcoming the obstacles facing people with visual disabilities, and the center's keenness to inform its members of the latest technical developments. During which he hosted representatives from South Korea, who developed the device to suit the uses of the blind, and it features a touch screen display with the Braille system for the blind. The screen displays images from phones and smart screens from the iPhone and iPad, where the blind can identify them through touch, as well as a built-in screen reader from the American company Apple, which is known as VoiceOver. The developers of the device indicated that this developed technology allows the blind to feel the images and improve their understanding of the graphics, in addition to the text-based Braille method
